Kitchen Blog

I haven't written in a while, so I thought I should post some pictures of what we've done to our kitchen!

I didn't take "before" pictures, but luckily I have some photos I took before I bought the house, when it still belonged to Cindy and Nate.

New refrigerator

New stove
The biggest change we made was replacing the appliances. We wanted stainless steel, and were able to get great deals on the refrigerator and dishwasher (the "dents & dings" aisle at Lowe's is great, and not everything is actually dented or dinged!). The stove was a bit more challenging; you may have noticed it's really teeny! It's 24 inches wide; standard is 30 inches. So the stove had to be special ordered.

We also painted the cabinet hardware to update the look of the kitchen.

We are planning to paint this room before we put the house on the market. The bulkhead is currently a royal blue (Cubs blue), so we'd like to pick something a little more subtle (and buyer friendly). Other than painting, this room is DONE and ready!

  1. Looks awesome! The stainless steel is definitely an improvement on what was there, but I still swear by that old stove when it came to making brownies! I haven't been able to make a decent batch since we moved! Lol : ). Yeah...the blue was mean to be accented with daisies...hadn't even considered the fact that it was Cubbie blue! But as most of my house projects...the daisies never got added. I do love the brown curtains though! So cafe chic! : )
